I'm back

I know it’s been over a month since I posted, but quite a few things have been going on and everything is just beginning to feel like something close to normal. Over the past month I’ve spent a lot of time thinking and have made a few major decisions about what I’m going to do in the near term along with a change of plans for the long term.

First, I will not be returning to law school this fall. Instead, I’ll be back at Speed School to finish the last few classes and thesis for my MEng. I have several reasons for this, all of which would take more time then what I want to take to really explain them. If you want to know more on this one, feel free to email me. I’ll feel free not to respond on this one.

Because of this change, and the fact that finishing my masters will require a full-time commitment, I’ve been spending time looking for work. If anyone knows of anything in the Louisville area that I might look into, drop me a note. I’m currently working a job that pays the bills, but let’s just say it’s less than satisfying. However, after a year of law school, any job that provides an income has definitely been a nice change of pace.

Finally, on a personal front I’m working on refocusing my life. Where I’m going right now I’m not exactly sure. When I decide I’m sure I’ll post something here. As always, your prayers, thoughts, and whatever else you can send my way would be greatly appreciated.

With that, I’m back and I will be blogging regularly for the foreseeable future.

Teachers and Guns

A school district in Utah has given teachers a preliminary OK to carry weapons while on the job.

The Jordan School Board gave preliminary approval Tuesday to a policy outlining the conditions under which district employees may carry a concealed weapon on school property with a valid permit.

Employees must keep the weapon concealed and employees who legally use a concealed weapon on school grounds do so in their individual capacities, not their scope of employment.

I'm all for this. However, with family members working in public schools, I'd hope that the administration would know who has the ability to carry on campus. If this was widely adopted I think news stories about massive school shootings by deranged kids would be a thing of the past.
