Woodford Reserve

For all the things that have been going on lately it was nice to have a good weekend. Friday was my 27th birthday and Sarah treated me to a great dinner. On Saturday we went and took a tour of Woodford Reserve. What was supposed to be a one hour tour ended up being almost three hour tour. While I enjoyed most of the tour, learning about the history distilling at the site, about the buildings, the distilling process (though I knew a good part of it already) and more from the guide. However, hearing about how the Continental Congress passed in 1791 a whiskey excise tax and its effect on the distilling industry was straining, as it was one of the most repeated mistakes. I’m a bit of a history buff and a lot of the history he talked about was just plain wrong. Fortunately, it provided an opportunity to get away from the group a little bit to get a few pictures without the tour group being around. To see the pictures just go to the gallery. I'd love to take a tour of this place sometime!

Call me on my cell SD. If you don't know it... look up my AIM, it's listed on my away/idle message.

Beer.
